I began playing piano at three years old, and eventually asked my mom at nine years old if I could start harp lessons allegedly when I started to get bored with piano. I had always been interested in playing the latest popular songs that were playing on the radio, and would sit for hours reading sheet music. I played my first wedding at twelve years old (it was my uncle’s), and began taking paid gigs as soon as I could drive. Learning came easily, and I followed my curiosity instinctively, eventually joining my local youth orchestra, taking up percussion lessons, and participating in marching band, honor bands, and honor orchestras. By the time I was ready to go to college, music seemed like the obvious choice as a career. Little did I know that my college career would take me on many different side quests, and I eventually came full circle, returning to the piano and receiving an undergraduate degree in jazz.

However, harp has always had my heart, and I always return to the instrument for composition and expression. I have a lifetime goal of showing how versatile the instrument can be, and there have been very few music requests that I’ve turned down. Seeing couples hear their music woven into such an important moment is endlessly rewarding. One of my favorite memories is watching a bride pause at the end of the aisle during her recessional, turning back to listen to a special arrangement I did with tears in her eyes, before walking out hand-in-hand with her new husband.

I value collaboration, clear communication, and showing up with a steady, self-sufficient presence—so couples and planners alike can feel confident that the music is thoughtfully handled from start to finish. It is always an honor to be a part of a wedding or special event.
